QuaniChic Reviews: ELF products from Target Haul

I called this look LONDON FOG...a combination of gray and black shadows

I used my recent ELF purchases to enter a contest on YouTube. The contest is being held by MrsGlass2007 to celebrate her channel reaching 500 subbies. Go check out her channel, subscribe, and enter her contest featuring a makeup look using at least 1 ELF product....click the following link to be directed to MrsGlass2007 YT channel... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0nccBfMdTU

Well anyone who knows me knows I am a little "extra" lol...so I did a look and all but 2 items (covergirl concealer & NYX jumbo pencil used for eyeshadow primer) were from ELF cosmetics. The brushes I used were also ELF. After using these products...I can honestly say that I am pleased with  the color payoff from the shadows, but I must add that the pigmentation on the Beauty Encyclopedia was MUCH better than the pigmentation of the 32-palette. I think I am going to go back to Target and get the other Beauty Encyclopedia in the neutral tones..

All in all...I recommend the ELF palettes, especially if you are a makeup beginner (like myself). Just keep in mind you MUST use some type of eyeshadow primer for these shadows to live up to their full potential.

Easy Holiday Appetizer: Cranberry-Chili Meatballs

YOU WILL NEED:

1 14-ounce can Ocean Spray® Jellied Cranberry Sauce
1 12-ounce bottle Heinz® Chili Sauce
1 2-pound bag frozen, pre-cooked, cocktail-size meatballs

DIRECTIONS:

Combine sauces in a large saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring until smooth. Add meatballs. Cover and cook for 15 minutes or until meatballs are heated through, stirring occasionally.

Makes 30 appetizer servings.

Slow cooker Preparation: Place meatballs in a slow cooker. Combine sauces and pour over meatballs. Cover and cook 4 hours on HIGH.

Quick and simple!!! (note the slowcooker option....I would just cook it on the stovetop and use the slowcooker to keep everything warm....) Watch me prepare this dish in the video below...

Elf Products at Target...

So I finally went to Target today in search of the $10 Elf 100 eyeshadow palette only to find that they were sold out. No need to stress..I found some other great bargains from ELF that will do just fine. I picked up a 32-piece Eyeshadow collection and The Beauty Encyclopedia (smoky edition) both for $5 each. Also I picked up a eyelashes set, which includes lashes, adhesive, lash holder, and lash applicator for $3. For $1 each I got 2 eyeshadow brushes, 2 defining eye brushes, regular/waterproof mascara duo, and some lip gloss (which I am currently in love with by the way)...so even though they didn't have what I was looking for...I came out with a lot of things that I wanted. Make your way to your local Target stores to try these chic, inexpensive cosmetic finds today!!

Hollywood lash set...stand, applicator, and adhesive included $3.00

Beauty Encyclopedia...smoky edition. 12 shadows, applicator, mirror $5.00

32 piece eyeshadow w/mirror and applicator $5.00

In A New York Color Minute Quick Dry Nail Polishes...

In a New York Color Minute feature colors...Sidewalkers not pictured
Whats up Chicsters?  Just coming on to share a quick, easy, and affordable manicure solution for you. So last week I went to Fresh Fest with a few friends and needed to do something really quick to my nails. Mind you it was 4pm and I still had to go home, get showered, get dressed, and get dolled up (hair & makeup). So going to sit in the nail salon was the last freaking thing on my mind...and just not in my plans...had to meet the girls at 7pm...and had to leave my house at 6pm to do so. Well what do I do about my nails you ask?? NYC cosmetics (which you can find in most drugstores and all Walmarts) has a great polish out. NYC cosmetics "New York Color in a Minute" line of nail polishes is AWESOME!!!! With just a basecoat, two coats of polish, and a quick topcoat....my nails were GORGEOUS! I paid $1.72 at my local walmart for this polish and the color I used is called SideWalkers #270...which is this great neutral gray color. The polish did not chip until about 6 days into the application so I was very pleased with it. So check out NYC's nail polishes for a Chic, Cheap manicure...

manicure using #270 Sidewalkers...and another purple NYC polish

Side Note...I have been wearing this color ever since then...I just change up the color on my accent nail (my ring finger) if I want a change.....LOVE...LOVE...LOVE this color!!!!

Ruff and Stuff with my Afro Puff.....Ayyyyyyy

Yup....that is me....no weave...no makeup. I barely recognized myself...lmaooo.

So I rocked my natural hair for exactly one week...mostly in a puff and a few wash and go's here and there...and I have come to the realization that I need to keep some sort of protective style in my hair to keep my own damn hands out of it...lmao. The whole week my mane was free, I had my hands in it EVERY five minutes. This was a personal challenge for me because for the first time in YEARS I actually went out in public with my own hair out...my own NON-RELAXED hair at that...now I'm not preaching that everyone should have natural hair....no. If you want natural hair do you...I do want to stress the importance of healthy hair tho...relaxed or not.

Anyways...back to me (ah-HA!) I just did a sew-in on my hair..pictures will be posted soon...along with a new YouTube video showing the hair..and later on today I will be shopping for some cute fall fashion finds...so stay tuned to see what I come up with. For now...I will leave you with a pic of my puff....my pride and joy for approximately one week...hahahahha!
